Bento in a Bag
Bento boxes are cute. But so are Bento Bags!

I’m a day behind again, so this is yesterday’s lunch. Maybe I’ll actually get today’s lunch posted today too, but no promises. I may be too busy eating it.
When I went bento box shopping, I also got two little bento bags. These are little drawstring bags sized just right to carry a bento box and some basic supplies (utensils, or a side dish). The first picture here is one of the two bags I got, with my bento tucked inside.
The second picture is the various layers of my bento lunch for today. Among the many diverse foods are such elements as:
- Pasta Bake
This is a little dish I made the other night. I had a pre-cooked meatloaf in the fridge, so I warmed that up and sliced it and lined the bottom of a baking dish. Then I cooked twirly pasta til al dente, and mixed with some garlic and onion tomato sauce. Poured the pasta on top of the meatloaf slices, sprinkled with bread crumbs and parmasean cheese, and baked for 10 minutes. It was pretty good, and makes great leftovers! - Grape Tomatos and Broccoli garnish
- Canned Pear Chunks
- Green Seedless Grapes
- Tangerine Wedges (wrapped in plastic wrap to be less messy)
- 100 Calorie pack cinnamon streusel muffins
Honestly, I don’t think I’ll be buying any more bento bags. Not because I don’t absolutely adore them. But they are so simple, I *know* I can sew some for myself. Just as soon as I get my sewing machine set up. There’s really no excuse for paying the price plus shipping from Japan for something that I can make just as well for myself. Especially since now I have two to use as a guideline/pattern.
